Thursday, February 1 through Sunday, February 4, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $550 for ASA members; $650 for non-members. The course is an intense, concentrated study of valuation theory and principles that includes the three approaches to valuing gems and jewelry; factors influencing value; appraisal terminology; literal vs. interpretative description; types and uses of appraisals; value research methods for the three approaches to value; data analysis and adjustment; use of statistics in valuation; complete vs. limited appraisal; self-contained, summary and restricted use reports; components of the written appraisal report; writing narrative commentary; and establishing an appraisal practice. USPAP Update Course. Wednesday, January 31, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $175 for members; $195 for non-members. The course is designed specifically for individuals who have completed the full Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course and only require updated information. The seven-hour update seminar covers critical changes and revisions to USPAP that significantly impact every practicing appraiser and lending officer in the fields of personal property and gems and jewelry. |

Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of inclusions in glass, including metals, air bubbles, mica, and organic materials, and how to use metals between layers of fused glass. Mokume Gane Patterning with James Binnion. Three-day workshop: Friday, February 2 through Sunday, February 4, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $175 for members; $200 for non-members.
