Couture Changes Show Format The VNU Jewelry Group has announced a change in the structure of its two June Las Vegas shows. Previously, the Couture Jewelry Collection & Conference — open only to invited retailers — was held in Las Vegas in the days following Memorial Day. Immediately after the Couture show closed, a second show, Signature Salons, opened featuring many of the same exhibitors, but open to all qualified members of the trade. The timing of the two shows mirrored The JCK Show, the largest jewelry show in the United States, and its pre-show invitational, Luxury by JCK. Under the new format, Signature Salons will be rolled into Couture for a six-day show, May 30 through June 4, 2007. The entire show will be open to the trade, and retailers with JCK badges will be given fast-track access to the show. However, certain events and privileges will be reserved for Couture’s invited “cornerstone retailers.” The show will remain at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, across the street from the Sands Expo Center, where The JCK Show is held. The Couture Jewelry Collection & Conference was started in 1995 and moved from Phoenix, Arizona, to Las Vegas in 2005. That same year marked the debut of Signature Salons. he VNU Jewelry Group also produces the JA New York show series and publishes National Jeweler and Couture International Jeweler magazines.
