World Jewelry Center Has First Tenants The World Jewelry Center (WJC), expected to be one of the biggest jewelry office and retail buildings in the world, has gotten commitments from its first 10 tenants. Still in the planning stages, the WJC will combine wholesale jewelry offices and multi-use space in a 50-story building in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed as a luxury destination for tenants and buyers alike, the tower will include office space, meeting and exhibition facilities, restaurants, a private club, and a fitness center as well as residential condominium space. An adjacent three-story building will house retail jewelry shops and an educational gem and jewelry museum. Total floor space for the center will be more than one million square feet. The first companies to sign up as wholesale tenants are: Lucent Diamonds Inc., Robert Wan Tahiti, Estet Jewelry Co., Kazanjian Bros. Inc., Chow Tai Fook Group, Super Bell Jewelry, Tycoon Inc., SimplexDiam Inc., Alan Friedman Designs, and JPI Packaging. The project is being headed by developer Robert Zarnegin of Beverly Hills-based Probity International Corp. and William Boyajian, former president of the Gemological Institute of America and current managing director of the WJC. The building is currently scheduled to open for business sometime between late 2009 and the middle of 2010. Posted: November 20, 2006 |
